What is Religous Pareidolia?

No, it's not something you can catch from eating Toast.

Pareidolia is defined as the perception of a pattern where none is intended. Religous Pareidolia then is the perception of Religous images where none were intended.

For the purposes of ToastGuy.com I extend this definition to include Celebrities and any image of Cult like status. For some, Celebrities are far more important and hold more personal meaning than a Religous Image of Jesus or the Virgin Mary.

Others consider that Blasphemy.

Famous Dates in Pareidolia:

  • December 25, 2005 - After Nine years of residing at The Bongo Java coffee shop in Nashville, Tennessee, The "Nun Bun" was stolen. This cinnamon bun bore a striking resemblance to late Catholic Nun Mother Teresa.
  • May 2005 - A California man who submitted the $15,400 winning bid for a piece of toast with an image of Jennifer Wilbanks, the so called Runaway Bride, carved into it by Perry Lonzell refuses to pay up.
  • April 2005 - The Virgin Mary decided to turn up on a turnoff area underneath the Kennedy Expressway in Chicago. The faithful prayed, heathens said it was salt runoff.
  • March 2005 - Ever needy of publicity for the declining attendance expierienced by the Catholic Church, the Virgin Mary, holding baby Jesus this time decided to make an appearence on a Rold Gold Honey Mustard Pretzel. Found in a bag by Nebraska Couple Machelle and Crysta Naylor it was quickly auctioned off on Ebay.
  • November 2004 - Diana Duyser decides after 10 years to sell her cherished Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich on Ebay. The winning bid of $28,000 Was submitted by GoldenPalace.com.
